Britain’s latest member of the Royal Family was shown to the world’s media outside St. Mary’s hospital in London on Monday.

The Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to her third child and second son at 11.01 GMT, weighing a little over 3.8 kg (8lb 7oz).

The baby boy, who is yet to be named, will be fifth in line to the throne of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

As is the protocol in the Royal Family, it is likely that the new-born’s name will be announced in the coming days.

Footage shows the couple posing on the steps of the Lindo Wing before leaving for Kensington Palace.
