Bernstein Research analyst says Sainsbury’s-Asda merger “likely to be passed” by the CMA

Bruno Monteyne, a retail analyst at Bernstein Research tells Sky’s Ian King that the Sainsbury’s – Asda merger is “likely to be passed” by the CMA.

If the deal goes ahead, Monteyne says the body is unlikely to ask the supermarkets to close more than 10% of its stores, the exact figure is likely to “be between three and eight percent.”
