Analyst: There’s a possibility Liberty Global may buy O2 if “price was right”
Vodafone is buying assets from Liberty Global in four European countries in a deal worth €18.4bn (£16.1bn).
The firm says it believes the deal will transform the European telecoms market.
Sky’s Ian King speaks to Guy Peddy, a Telecoms Analyst at Maquarie about the deal which will see Vodafone take control of operators in Germany, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Romania.
Peddy says there is a chance Liberty Global may buy O2 from Telefonica to bulk up Virgin Media if “price was right.”
